A Quilt Gift!

I had a wonderful day today at a very dear friend’s house. She and her husband’s 12 year anniversary is tomorrow and they recently bought a new house and had the housewarming party today. My 14 year old daughter and I were in their wedding (I was the Maid of Honor and Samantha was a lovely little flower girl). Jen is also my daughter’s godmother. Although we don’t get together as often as we used to we are still great friends and have a wonderful time whenever we see each other.

So I knew that I wanted to give them a quilt as a housewarming gift but just ran out of time to whip something up. So as I was going thru the quilts that I have finished over the last year or so I found one that I just love and knew that it would be a perfect choice for them. So I tossed it in the wash last night and labelled it this morning and Jen LOVES it!

Quilts are just wonderful gifts!

  1. there’s an idea!! I have lots of tops that I loved making, but have no home for them. I like the idea of saving them for “just in case” situations! It’s a beautiful quilt!

  2. I like the idea of giving a quilt to those special occasions. The gift is especially nice if the person who receives the quilt knows that you made it personally. Those quilts are one of a kind. Distinctive! Will make a post about quilts on my blog.

  3. Love the quilt you did for your friend’s house warming! Just noticed your cat. She looks almost like my calico but a little more black. Talk to ya soon.Michele 🙂

  4. Oh I remember that mystery :)I should contact Ann for the directions make it again scrappy this time. Last time I did pink and black and I did the ocean waves layout…..enjoy your weekend.

  5. You are really generous and your friend is so lucky! I have never given my quilts away. They are just too precious to me. I guess people who want them will have to wait until they read my will. 🙂
